Core Concepts
Understand the building blocks that power Clozup's sales automation engine.
Before diving into specific features, it helps to understand how Clozup's data model fits together. Every entity — from leads to deals to sequences — is connected, and understanding these relationships will help you get the most out of the platform.
Leads
A lead is a person or contact you want to reach. Every lead belongs to your organization and can be associated with a company. Leads are the starting point for all outbound activity in Clozup.
Each lead has a status (new, contacted, qualified, converted, lost) and an optional AI score based on fit and engagement signals. Leads can be imported from CSV, created manually, or added via the API.
- Lead 360 View — A unified profile showing contact info, company data, engagement history, notes, and AI-generated insights.
- Enrichment — Clozup can automatically enrich leads with company info, social profiles, and firmographic data using AI credits.
- Scoring — Leads receive an AI-powered score (0-100) based on profile completeness, engagement activity, and ICP fit.

Campaigns
A campaign is a coordinated outbound initiative targeting a specific set of leads. Think of it as a project that bundles your outreach efforts — email sequences, messaging, and tracking — under one umbrella.
Campaigns have a status (draft, active, paused, completed), assigned leads, one or more sequences, and aggregate performance metrics (open rate, reply rate, conversion rate).
- AI-Generated Campaigns — Describe your goal in natural language and Clozup's AI will generate the complete campaign including email copy, sequence steps, and scheduling.
- Manual Campaigns — Use the step-by-step wizard to build campaigns with full control over every detail.

Sequences
A sequence is an ordered series of touchpoints (emails, SMS, calls, tasks) that are executed automatically over time. Sequences live inside campaigns and define the actual outreach workflow.
Each step in a sequence has a delay (e.g., wait 2 days), a channel (email, SMS, LinkedIn, call), and content (subject line, body, template variables). Sequences support:
- A/B Testing — Create variant steps to test different subject lines or messaging and automatically pick the winner.
- Conditional Logic — Skip steps or branch based on lead behavior (opened, clicked, replied).
- Multi-Channel — Mix email, SMS, and manual tasks in a single sequence.
- Smart Timing — Clozup optimizes send times based on engagement data and timezone detection.

Deals
A deal represents a potential sale or revenue opportunity. Deals are created when a lead shows buying intent — typically when they reply positively to a campaign or are manually added by a sales rep.
Deals move through stages on a Kanban board (e.g., Discovery → Proposal → Negotiation → Closed Won). Each deal has a value, probability, expected close date, and an assigned owner.
- Pipeline View — Drag-and-drop Kanban board for visual deal management.
- Weighted Forecast — Clozup calculates weighted revenue based on deal value × probability per stage.
- Activity Timeline — Every interaction (email, call, note) is logged on the deal timeline.

Credits
Credits are the currency for AI-powered actions in Clozup. Every plan includes a monthly credit allocation, and different actions consume different amounts of credits depending on complexity.
Credit consumption
Not all features consume credits. Only AI-powered operations — like generating campaigns, enriching leads, running insights, and AI chat — use credits. Standard features like sending emails, managing deals, and viewing analytics are unlimited.
Credits are consumed by:
- AI Chat messages — 1-5 credits per message depending on the model tier (Fast, Balanced, Powerful).
- Lead enrichment — 1 credit per lead enriched.
- Campaign generation — 3-10 credits per AI-generated campaign.
- Call transcription — 2 credits per call transcribed.
- AI Insights — 5 credits per insight analysis.

Organizations & Teams
Every Clozup account belongs to an organization. An organization is the top-level container that holds all your data — leads, campaigns, deals, sequences, and settings.
Within an organization, team members are assigned roles:
- Owner — Full access including billing and member management.
- Admin — Can manage settings, members, and all sales data.
- Member — Can use all sales features but cannot manage billing or organization settings.
- Viewer — Read-only access to dashboards and analytics.

How Everything Connects
Here's how the core entities relate to each other in a typical workflow:
- Import Leads → Leads are created in your organization with contact and company data.
- Create a Campaign → Select a subset of leads and define your outreach strategy.
- Build Sequences → Add multi-step, multi-channel sequences to the campaign.
- Launch → Clozup automatically sends messages, waits for replies, and tracks engagement.
- Replies arrive in Inbox → Positive replies are flagged and can be converted to deals.
- Deals move through pipeline → Track each opportunity from discovery to close.
- AI Insights surface wins → Clozup analyzes what's working and recommends adjustments.
The AI thread
Notice how AI runs through every step — generating campaigns, scoring leads, transcribing calls, surfacing insights. This is what makes Clozup different: AI isn't a feature, it's the foundation.
